But over and above its fiscal objectives, electronic invoicing also represents a major step forward in the fight against VAT fraud.&nbsp;<strong>a real performance driver<\/strong>&nbsp;for companies :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Lower processing costs<\/strong>&nbsp;(up to 75 % compared with paper),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Faster payment times<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Better control over cash flow<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fewer errors and disputes<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reduced reporting obligations<\/strong>&nbsp;(VAT pre-filled at term),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reducing carbon footprint<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The digital transition is accelerating, and companies have everything to gain if they anticipate it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Does this apply to me?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Yes<\/strong>, if you are subject to French VAT. Even if you are exempt from VAT (e.g. micro-entrepreneur), you must be able to&nbsp;<strong>receive and issue electronic invoices<\/strong>. Only exclusively exempt operators (healthcare, education, etc.) are not concerned.<br><br>The timetable for implementation is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>September 1, 2028<\/strong>&nbsp;(subject to an amendment still under discussion): issue for SMEs, VSEs and micro-businesses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>September 1, 2026<\/strong>&nbsp;obligation to&nbsp;<strong>reception<\/strong>&nbsp;for all companies,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>September 1, 2027<\/strong>&nbsp;obligation to\u2019<strong>emission<\/strong>&nbsp;for large companies and ETIs,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Electronic invoice \u2260 simple PDF<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note: a PDF is not necessarily an electronic invoice. To be compliant, an electronic invoice must be structured in a specific format (Factur-X, UBL or CII) and guarantee the following\u2019<strong>authenticity of origin<\/strong>, l\u2019<strong>content integrity<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>readability<\/strong>. It must also contain&nbsp;<strong>enhanced legal information<\/strong>, including the customer's SIREN number and the distinction between goods and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Two processes to know: e-invoicing and e-reporting<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Visit&nbsp;<strong>e-invoicing<\/strong>&nbsp;corresponds to the exchange of electronic invoices between French companies (B2B).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visit&nbsp;<strong>e-reporting<\/strong>, applies to operations not covered by e-invoicing: B2C sales, international sales or specific transactions. It requires&nbsp;<strong>transmit data to the administration<\/strong>&nbsp;with varying frequency depending on the tax system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Which platforms to use?<\/strong><br>Three types of players are involved:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Visit&nbsp;<strong>PPF<\/strong>&nbsp;(Public Billing Portal),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visit&nbsp;<strong>PDP<\/strong>&nbsp;(State-certified dematerialization platforms),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visit&nbsp;<strong>OD<\/strong>&nbsp;(Dematerialization operators, not certified but offering complementary services).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Your company can choose one or more platforms for issuing and receiving invoices.
